East-West Trail

Institute Park is part of the East-West Trail. The East-West Trail is a 14-mile, cross-city trail designed as a hiking experience connecting 20 parks and green spaces within the city of Worcester.  Institute Park is one of the parks through which the trail passes.  The trail extends from the shore of Lake Quinsigamond on Worcester’s eastern border to Boynton Park on its western border. The trail winds its way through a succession of city parks and other publicly accessible green spaces, interconnected via a network of quiet streets and busy thruways.  The East-West Trail is supported and promoted by Park Spirit of Worcester, Inc. in partnership with the Greater Worcester Land Trust, the City of Worcester, and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.
